Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), leads aviation heads to the 13th NIGAV Awards, approved by the Acting DG of CAA.
In a statement, NIGAV Chairman, Mr. Fortune Idu, assures preparations for the successful event at the NIGAV center, Murtala Mohammed International airport.
Set for February 22, 2024, from 2 pm to 7 pm, the awards feature a King and Queen competition, along with various categories.
Explaining the significance, Idu mentions that the King and Queen of the Air awards highlight the crucial role played by cabin attendants.
Competing from different airlines, attendants aim to be crowned and win cash awards, emphasizing their importance in air travel.
Idu stresses the sensitivity of the aviation industry in Nigeria, emphasizing the need to recognize, reward, and appreciate those maintaining smooth operations.
Assuring support, Acting DG of NCAA, Capt Chris Najomo, backs the NIGAV awards during a visit by Mr. Idu to discuss the upcoming event.
With NCAA’s endorsement, the stage is set for the annual performance assessment and rewarding event, recognizing contributions in the challenging aviation sector.
Mr. Idu confirms over 30 awards will be presented based on recommendations and public votes, acknowledging the industry’s resilience in 2023.

This year’s NIGAV Awards, sponsored by Santos Aviation, introduces the King and Queen of the Air contest, crowning the winners in a cabin crew competition.
Notably, Acting DG Capt Chris Najomo, once a NiGAV recipient for piloting excellence, will now crown the King and Queen of the Air in the cabin crew contest.
