The oneworld® alliance marks 25 years, with a member airline taking off or landing globally every six seconds. Since 1999, oneworld has flown nearly nine billion passengers, fostering connections with diverse cultures and loved ones.

Founded  by American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas, oneworld aimed to enhance connectivity and privileges for frequent flyers. It has grown to include 13 top airlines and is set to welcome Oman Air as its 14th member in 2024.

With over 330,000 dedicated professionals, oneworld member airlines strive for seamless and memorable travel experiences. Celebrating its landmark year, oneworld introduces unique pin badges for uniformed staff with a specially-designed 25th-anniversary logo.

oneworld embraces diversity and inclusivity, representing over 170 territories. Member airlines collectively serve 900+ global destinations, offering customers access to 600+ premium lounges, additional baggage allowances, and fast-track security lanes.

As the sole alliance providing access to First Class lounges globally, oneworld also offers two types of round-the-world fares. Robert Isom, American Airlines CEO and oneworld alliance Chairman, expresses pride in celebrating with over 200 million loyal customers globally.

Ronald Lam, CEO of Cathay Pacific, emphasizes the power of collaboration in connecting cultures and creating lasting memories. Vanessa Hudson, Qantas Group CEO, lauds the alliance’s 25-year commitment to benefiting shared customers.

Luis Gallego, CEO of International Airlines Group (IAG), highlights oneworld’s role in shaping global aviation and commitment to exceptional travel experiences. In 2019, oneworld launched Travel Bright, a positive brand reflecting millennials’ energy.

In January 2024, oneworld opened its first branded lounge at Incheon Airport, contributing to its vision of making travel bright. The alliance reaffirms its sustainability commitment by joining IATA CO2 Connect in January 2024, contributing operational data to calculate its carbon footprint.
