Vice President Kashim Shettima celebrated Air Peace as “a Nigerian product and Nigerian pride” during the airline’s 10th-anniversary event on October 25. Recognizing Air Peace’s resilience and dedication, he highlighted its substantial impact on Nigeria’s aviation industry and economy. As a symbol of national pride, Air Peace has significantly enhanced connectivity across Nigeria, uniting regions and people. All 36 state governors participated in the celebration, with some attending in person and others represented, applauding this milestone.

In his address, Shettima emphasized Air Peace’s role as “a Nigerian product and Nigerian pride,” affirming its value in connecting Nigerians and fostering regional commerce. He praised the airline’s efforts in expanding domestic routes and positioning Nigeria as an air travel hub. Air Peace Chairman Dr. Allen Onyema was also lauded for his contributions to job creation within Nigeria and across Africa. The Vice President noted how Air Peace’s presence bolsters national pride and exemplifies the best in Nigerian business.

Shettima further commended Air Peace’s resilience in the face of challenges, remarking, “Air Peace has displayed an exceptional level of resilience that speaks to the strength of its leadership and workforce.”

He underscored the government’s strong dedication to supporting “a Nigerian product and Nigerian pride” to ensure its success. Furthermore, he referenced the recent approval of the Cape Town Convention, which will reduce costs and enhance competitiveness in aviation. This policy will empower airlines like Air Peace to thrive within Nigeria’s aviation sector, fostering sustainable growth and expansion.

Reflecting on Air Peace’s swift response to national needs, the Vice President acknowledged its role in repatriating Nigerians from conflict zones. Specifically, he praised Air Peace’s assistance in Sudan, Libya, and South Africa, highlighting its dedication to serving Nigerians in crises. Concluding his speech, Shettima urged Air Peace to prioritize its people and communities, stressing a community-centered mission. “Prioritize the people, listen to them, and carry them along,” he advised, underscoring a commitment to people-focused values. Now, with renewed dedication to connecting Nigerians globally, Air Peace approaches its next decade grounded in enduring service values.
