Ibom Air has expanded its fleet with the addition of two new Bombardier CRJ 900 next-generation aircraft, registered as 5N-CED and 5N-CEE. These acquisitions were outright purchases, financed through a shareholder loan, raising the airline’s fleet to nine aircraft.

The reception event took place today in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, with Governor Umo Eno welcoming the aircraft’s arrival. Governor Eno expressed that adding these CRJ 900 next-generation planes shows the administration’s ongoing commitment to Ibom Air. He emphasized that this aligns with the state’s ARISE Agenda, which seeks to strategically invest in economic growth. This investment advances Akwa Ibom’s status and elevates its appeal in the aviation sector.

Ibom Air CEO, Mr. Mfon Udom, highlighted the significance of these new aircraft in enhancing the airline’s operations. “We gladly welcome these two new Bombardier CRJ 900 next-generation aircraft to our fleet.” With this addition, Ibom Air now operates a total of nine aircraft, including two Airbus A220-300s and seven CRJ 900s,” Udom stated. He added, “We are not resting; our goal to be a serious scheduled carrier drives continuous fleet growth. We eagerly await the deliveries of our nine remaining Airbus A220-300s over the next three years.”

This addition will enable Ibom Air to enhance its connectivity and service reliability, supporting its commitment to offering robust travel options for passengers.
