Comptroller General Immigration, Mrs. Caroline Wuro-ola Adepoju, actively enjoined graduates of the 48th superintendent basic course to adhere to NIS Act, manual, and IOM standards. She charged them to balance ethics and professionalism when exercising state powers in citizen dealings.
Adepoju emphasized this directive during the passing out parade, coinciding with Immigration Training School, Kano’s 48th-anniversary celebration and the service’s diamond jubilee. The CGI underscored the importance of international collaboration, hinting at a plan allowing training institutions to attend capacity-building courses, demonstrating a commitment to global responsiveness.
Highlighting the significance of training and retraining, she expressed commitment to global best practices. On corruption, the Ag CGI declared a zero-tolerance stance, urging graduates to shun all forms of misconduct. She reminded them of the NIS’ core mandate of border security.
Expressing gratitude to the minister, commandant, instructors, emirate, and people of Kano, Wuro-ola credited their support and synergy, fostering collaboration and community spirit within the service.
