The Ogun State Government has made strategic appointments to ensure the successful Gateway International Airport launch. Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun appointed three consultants to oversee the aviation sector. These appointments feature Captain Dapo Olumide as Airport Management Consultant, Engineer Benedict Adeyileka as Regulatory Matters Consultant, and Engineer Mohammed Odunowo as Aviation Consultant.
A statement signed by Secretary to the Ogun Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, emphasized that the appointments prepare for the airport’s launch. The appointed experts will be responsible for specific roles in the rapidly developing aviation sector.
The statement emphasized that the governor based these appointments on the relevant expertise and experience in national and international aviation.
Captain Olumide previously served as Managing Director of Aero Contractors and Virgin Nigeria, before its transformation into Nigerian Eagle. Engineer Adeyileka, with his regulatory knowledge, was the Acting Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority. Engineer Odunowo, the former Managing Director of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, also served as Director at the NCAA. The Agro-Cargo Gateway International Airport launch is key to opening Ogun state further to investment.
