The Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA) has announced plans for its 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together key stakeholders in Nigeria’s air traffic management sector. The two-day gathering will take place in Lagos from November 10 to 11, 2026, with sessions beginning at 9:00 am daily.
The association, an affiliate member of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA), expects aviation professionals, industry experts and other stakeholders to participate in the landmark event.
Air Traffic Management Takes Centre Stage
This year’s AGM will focus on the theme, “Beyond Silos to Synergy: Shaping the Future of Nigerian Air Traffic Management.”
The theme highlights the importance of collaboration, institutional coordination and integrated operations in strengthening Nigeria’s air traffic management framework.
It also places emphasis on the need for closer cooperation among aviation agencies and industry stakeholders. Such collaboration remains important to improving operational efficiency, enhancing safety standards and preparing the nation’s airspace for future demands.
The discussions are expected to provide an opportunity for participants to examine emerging challenges and explore practical approaches to advancing air traffic management in Nigeria.
The 55th AGM will hold at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. Proceedings will run from November 10 to 11, with daily activities scheduled to commence at 9:00 am.
The gathering is expected to attract delegates from across the aviation industry, providing a platform for professional engagement, knowledge exchange and discussions on the future of the sector.
Meanwhile, the event has secured the backing of key industry organisations, including the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and United ATS.
Their support underscores the involvement of aviation stakeholders in discussions surrounding the development of Nigeria’s air traffic management system (ATMs).
The AGM comes at a time when collaboration, modernisation and operational efficiency remain important considerations for the country’s aviation industry.
Through the gathering, NATCA will provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss shared priorities and explore ways of shaping the future of Nigerian ATM.
