Ibom Air has refuted recent allegations regarding its handling of flight check-ins and ticketing procedures. The airline also addressed unfounded accusations of ticket racketeering at its Port Harcourt station.

Aniekan Essienette, GM of Marketing and Communication, released a statement rejecting these claims. “Our staff maintain the highest level of integrity and commit to serving our customers fairly and transparently. This commitment is at the core of our operations. We will continue to ensure that our flight check-ins and ticketing procedures remains transparent. It is necessary to use this opportunity to educate our passengers and the public on some aviation rules.”

Flight Closures: In accordance with international standards, check-ins close 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights. This policy ensures timely departures and minimizes delays. Passengers should arrive on time to ensure a comfortable and stress-free travel experience.
Handling of ‘Go-Show’ Passengers: We follow IATA’s guidelines for ‘Go-show’ passengers. Passengers who arrive early without a pre-booked ticket learn if the flight is full. They decide to waitlist themselves as ‘Go-show’ passengers. We accommodate them only if seats remain after serving all booked, early, and on-time passengers.
Corruption Allegations: Ibom Air operates under strict ethical standards. “Our staff do not engage in any form of racketeering or corruption. We maintain a transparent and secure ticketing process, eliminating any possibility of such practices. We will thoroughly investigate any attempts to undermine these standards and take appropriate action.”
