Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has strengthened its partnership with leading aviation trainers, Dutch Aviation Trainers (DAT), to improve pilot training efficiency and operational standards. The engagement took place on May 21, 2026, at the airline’s corporate headquarters in Lagos. The meeting focused on expanding training collaboration for the Boeing 737 NG fleet while reinforcing international best practices across Air Peace operations.

The strategic engagement highlights Air Peace’s continued investment in human capital development and technical excellence. Meanwhile, DAT already handles training programmes for Air Peace pilots operating the Embraer E1 and E2 aircraft types. The existing relationship has helped improve technical expertise and operational efficiency within the airline’s growing fleet network.

Speaking during the engagement, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr Allen Onyema, reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to continuous crew development and operational safety. He stated that Air Peace would continue investing in advanced pilot training to maintain world-class standards across its domestic, regional, and international operations.

Dr Onyema said the airline considers training a critical component of operational reliability and passenger safety. According to him, partnerships with experienced aviation trainers remain essential to sustaining industry-leading performance and global competitiveness. He added that Air Peace would continue aligning its operational systems with evolving international aviation requirements.

Representing Dutch Aviation Trainers during the meeting were Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Captain Paul Ten Hof, and Herman. Both executives engaged Air Peace leadership on future training opportunities and long-term capacity-building initiatives. The discussions also explored deeper collaboration on simulator programmes and technical crew development.

The partnership further demonstrates Air Peace’s strategic focus on building a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting fleet expansion plans. Therefore, the airline continues positioning itself as a major African carrier committed to global aviation best practices. The collaboration with aviation trainers like DAT is expected to strengthen pilot competency while enhancing safety culture across operations.

Air Peace has consistently expanded its training investments in recent years as part of broader operational growth plans. The airline currently operates domestic, regional, and international routes, with an increasing focus on modern fleet development and service reliability. Industry observers believe partnerships with global aviation trainers will further support sustainable operational excellence in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
