THE Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has enjoined airlines, the travelling public, airport users and the generality of Nigerians to have some understanding while it relocates power cables from the construction site of the new terminal being built at the Murtala Muhammed International Airports (MMIA).
According to FAAN, the recent power outage that affected some parts of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport was as a result of damaged power cables that ran through the new terminal stating that engineers were on ground to carry out the relocation.
Nigerianflightdeck who spoke to General Manager Corporate Communication, Yakubu Dati learnt that the issue is being resolved, he called for calm stating that in no distant time the relocation of the cables will be complete.https://www.arrivdep.com/airport/LOS
The follow-up statement later sent by FAAN indicated,â€The power outage that affected some parts of the Lagos Airport, today 12th September 2016 is being resolved. Preliminary reports indicate the cause being damage on two number 11kv underground power supply cables located within the construction premises of the new international terminal.â€
“Our engineers are resolving the identified issues. However, FAAN needs to relocate these cables from the construction site to prevent re occurrence and we crave your indulgence while that is being done. “
“The airport authority apologizes for inconvenience caused to airlines, passengers and the general public.â€
