Following the suspension of operations by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Dana Air staff demand prompt payment of April salaries.

The airline informed staff of termination due to suspended operations and economic challenges in a letter titled “Services No Longer Required.”

Speaking anonymously to NigerianFLIGHTDECK, some Dana Air staff emphasized the urgency of receiving their April salaries among other requests. The termination, affecting over 500 employees across all departments, has sparked outcry and calls for accountability.

One affected staff member said, “Our demand is simple: fair treatment and prompt payment of what is rightfully ours.”

They demanded the company pay one month’s salary in lieu of notice and provide evidence of paid pension and tax remittance deductions.

Additionally, staff seek clarity on the scheduling of final settlements for both past and present employees.

The group, aggrieved by what they perceive as unjust termination, highlights unpaid salaries, benefits, HMO, pensions, and settlements. They have resolved to gather at Dana House on May 21st, 2024, to advocate for their rights.

“This difficult decision was necessitated by the unfortunate suspension of our AOC/business operations by the NCAA.” Dana Air’s termination letter in part explained.

It blamed the termination on the enormous economic challenges the suspension continues to occasion.

  1. I’m elated to see that DANA staff are beginning to challenge the draconian rulership of DANA. Watching from a distance and being close to one of tge long standing victim of failed rule of law operational en DANA, I’ve always wondered why some people have become demigod: living and acting above the law. However, l was settled in my mind that just like the historical Pharaoh, THERE SHALL ARISE A MOSES DOWN THE ROAD…. I’m happy to see DANA staff chant the long awaited war chant, demanding Pharoah to let my people go.
    Bravo DANA staff.
