The Boeing Company, a leading global aerospace firm, has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of Air Peace Limited, Nigeria’s largest airline and a key player in West Africa’s aviation sector. This collaboration underscores the airline’s pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s aviation industry and fostering regional connectivity. During a visit to Air Peace headquarters, Harry Magui, Senior Organizational Consultant at Boeing Global Learning Institute, commended Air Peace for its safety culture and operational excellence. He announced that Boeing would conduct a five-day training program titled Advanced Leadership in Safety Excellence to enhance safety culture and operational resilience within the airline.

Magui emphasized the importance of safety as the foundation of the aviation industry, stating, “Without safety, there can be no business in aviation.” He elaborated that this principle is critical not only for airlines like Air Peace but also for regulators and passengers. Boeing’s training will address key areas such as psychological safety, crisis management, change management processes, and fostering a “just culture.” These aspects are essential for maintaining Air Peace’s reputation for safety and reliability.

Harrison Debrah, from Boeing’s Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs, lauded the airline’s rapid progress within a decade of operations. He highlighted that Air Peace remains central to Boeing’s vision for Nigeria. Debrah expressed admiration for the resilience and passion of the airline’s Chairman/CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema, emphasizing Boeing’s long-term commitment to supporting Air Peace’s leadership in the region.

Dr. Fabian Steinmann of Cranfield University, also part of the visiting delegation, noted Cranfield’s shared dedication to safety and innovation. He explained, “We are privileged to collaborate with Air Peace, sharing best practices from around the world while learning from their unique operational strategies.” Cranfield’s expertise in organizational resilience and safety aligns with Air Peace’s robust safety framework, enhancing the airline’s ability to adapt to an ever-changing aviation landscape.

Dr. Allen Onyema, in his response, expressed gratitude for Boeing and Cranfield’s recognition of Air Peace’s achievements. He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to safety, highlighting their “system of checks and balances” and the adoption of a non-punitive reporting culture. Onyema shared his personal trust in Air Peace’s safety standards, noting, “I have never used any other airline apart from Air Peace.”

This partnership between Boeing, Cranfield University, and Air Peace underscores a shared vision of enhancing operational excellence and safety leadership. By fostering collaboration and exchanging global best practices, Air Peace continues to position itself as a leader in African aviation.
