Actions at our counter at Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport jeopardized our flight safety for four days. We canceled our scheduled flights to Lagos as of Tuesday, May 21, 2024. We informed the relevant authorities that we cannot carry out the scheduled flights until they guarantee our flight safety.
In an official statement, Turkish Airlines expressed gratitude for the aviation authorities’ intervention, appreciating their support and commitment. They stated, “As long as the NCAA and FAAN ensure flight safety, we will operate with sensitivity.”
The FAA General Manager affirmed the commitment to implementing unprecedented measures to safeguard operations, addressing concerns raised by the airline. These measures aim to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure uninterrupted flight services.
