Stakeholders in Nigeria’s aviation sector will convene on May 15, 2024, at Lagos Travel Inn, Toyin Street, Ikeja, for the 2024 World AIS Day celebration, organized by AIMAN.
The event, themed “Efficient Data Management in an Automated Environment,” will emphasize automation’s pivotal role in collating, editing, formatting, and disseminating aeronautical information to enhance air navigation efficiency and safety.
AIMAN President, William George Ngerem, highlighted the government’s substantial investment in AIS Automation, influencing this year’s theme.
Dignitaries expected include Barr. Festus Keyamo, Ag. Director General Capt. Chris Najomo, Ag. Rector Joseph Shaka Amalighwe, and MD Engr Umar Farouk. Engr Godwin Balang will chair the event, with Mr Ahmad Abba and Mr John Tayo delivering the keynote and celebration addresses, respectively.
The World AIS Day celebration aligns with ICAO’s declaration, aiming to promote professional practices and raise awareness of aeronautical information services’ safety-critical role.
