
In a bid to fortify the commitment to innovation in air navigation services, Engr. Ahmed Farouk, led the charge at the 2024 Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA’s management retreat. Held at the esteemed Zuma Rock Resort in Niger state, the retreat centered on the theme “Sustainability of Strategic Management and Leadership Development in Airspace Management: A New Approach.”
The MD/CE of the NAMA, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining his achievements and vision for NAMA, stressing the importance of visionary leadership, strategic management, and collaboration in achieving safety, efficiency, and sustainability in Nigerian airspace.
NAMA’s management retreat gave management opportunity to strategize and make the airspace safer and secure.
The eight Directors of NAMA presented detailed reports on their stewardship, highlighting their vision, mission, and achievements since assuming their roles in December 2023. They also signed recommitment bonds, along with key performance indicators (KPIs), to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, speaking on behalf of the Directors, commended Engr. Farouk’s leadership for driving significant advancements and ensuring safety in Nigerian airspace.
Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, representing the Ministry of Aviation, emphasized strategic management, leadership development, and collaboration for airspace efficiency.
Engr. Esosa Iyawe stressed NAMA’s importance in Nigeria’s aviation and sought recommendations for better airspace safety enhancement. He promised quick steps to secure sufficient funding for NAMA, noting financial hurdles due to unfair revenue distribution.
Engr. Farouk expressed gratitude for the support and advocated for a review of the revenue-sharing formula to ensure fair resource allocation to NAMA.
