The Nigerian airport business community will converge from July 15–17, 2025, for the Airport Business Summit and Expo (ABSE). The three-day event, themed “Investment Opportunities in Airport Public-Private Partnerships,” will hold at the NIGAV Expo Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. This summit remains the only event solely dedicated to air transport development from the airport perspective. It aims to unlock airport investment opportunities by promoting public-private partnerships to ensure Nigeria’s airports are economically viable.

The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and the Nigerian Transport Commissioners’ Forum are key collaborators ensuring the summit’s success.

Special guests expected include the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana. State transport commissioners, heads of aviation agencies, and managing directors will also attend.

Day 1: Focus on Airport Revenue and Business Pitching

Day one begins with a Masterclass Workshop on Airport Revenue Planning, targeting airport managers, airlines, investors, and aviation stakeholders. This session aims to identify problems affecting airport revenue generation while proposing solutions and investment pathways.

It will dissect how to resolve conflicts in revenue streams and highlight new business models to boost financial sustainability for airports nationwide.

Later that day, airport managers will deliver **pitch presentations on airport business opportunities**, showcasing individual airports as viable investment destinations. Each manager will also exhibit at designated booths to explain their development plans.

This session aims to build investor confidence in regional airport projects while inspiring managers to adopt innovative growth strategies.

Day 2: Public-Private Partnerships and Multisector Strategies

Day two’s Track A explores Public-Private Partnerships in Aviation, with speakers reviewing aviation development policies and how to align them with private sector collaboration. The session will also cover planning and programme integration to enable strategic economic gains.

Track B, themed A Multisector Approach to Unlocking Investment Potentials, will explore how tourism, hospitality, trade, and transport interface with aviation. This holistic view helps to position airports as hubs of commerce while opening new airport investment opportunities for national growth.

By examining intermodal integration and agency collaboration, this session seeks to draw more private sector involvement into underutilised parts of the aviation ecosystem.

Day 3: Cargo Logistics and Operational Challenges

Track C of the final day is dedicated to Cargo Logistics Operational Readiness, in response to Nigeria’s export diversification strategy. Experts will assess the infrastructure status of airport cargo terminals and explore how aviation can support agro-export and perishables.

Well-equipped cargo facilities are vital to make Nigeria’s airports globally competitive. Thus, this session seeks to establish cargo logistics as a core driver of future airport development.

Track D addresses Airport Operations, Safety, and Security Challenges. It will focus on regulatory concerns from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, particularly issues of vandalism, encroachment, and theft at airport premises.

Speakers will share how operational teams, security outfits, and regulators coordinate safety systems, ensure audit compliance, and develop best practices to protect airport facilities.

ABSE 2025 serves as a key dialogue platform for fostering airport investment opportunities that can drive sustainable development in the Nigerian aviation sector. With critical stakeholders in attendance, the summit is expected to provide actionable pathways to unlock new economic frontiers through well-managed airport infrastructure.
