The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Trans-African Hydro-Meteorological Observatory (TAHMO), a non-governmental agency.

TAHMO aims to develop a vast network of weather stations across Africa. Current and historic weather data is important for agricultural, climate monitoring, and many hydro-meteorological applications.
Professor Charles Anosike signed on behalf of NiMet while Els Veenjoven and Prof. Ahmed Balogun signed on behalf of the TAHMO project.
