Step into the spotlight as we celebrate a remarkable achievement. The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Professor Charles Anosike, was honored at the 2025 African Leadership Awards. Organized by the African Leadership Magazine, the event took place on Saturday, 22nd February 2025, in Casablanca, Morocco.
This prestigious recognition highlights his outstanding contributions to leadership and innovation in Africa. Prof. Anosike received the African Public Sector Leadership Impact Award for his transformational leadership at NiMet. The awards, a side event at the African Leadership Conference themed: “Inclusive Leadership for an Interconnected Africa: New Paradidgms for Future Realities’. The event also honored other distinguished leaders, including President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar (African Political Leader of the Year), President Bassirou Faye of Senegal (African of the Year), Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State (African Outstanding Good Governance Champion Award), and Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State (African Leadership Public Service Excellence Award).
Additionally, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director/CEO of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, received the Special African Banking Leadership Award & African Leadership Award for Banking Excellence and Financial Innovation. Dr. Seinye Lulu-Briggs, Executive Chairman of Moni Pulo Limited, was named African Philanthropist of the Year 2024.
