The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has achieved a 76.5% compliance score in the 2024 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). This rating confirms substantial compliance with ethical and integrity standards across federal agencies.

In a statement, Abdullahi Musa, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, said the ICPC, in a post-deployment letter dated February 6, 2025, reported: “Sequel to the deployment, scoring, and ratings of assessed MDAs, your documents were analyzed, and your agency had a score of 76.5%, which connotes substantial compliance on the EICS and a non-existent status in the AEI (ACTU Effectiveness Index).”

NAMA’s Managing Director, Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk, welcomed the report and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.

“We appreciate this recognition from the ICPC as an integrity watchdog. Moreover, at NAMA, we adhere to professional standards and ensure transparency in all our processes. Safety is sacrosanct, and we uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. This achievement strengthens our resolve to improve our integrity rating and align with global best practices, including the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs),” Farouk stated.

Furthermore, NAMA’s 76.5% compliance score in the ICPC’s Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard underscores the agency’s dedication to ethical standards and transparency. This achievement highlights NAMA’s commitment to upholding integrity in its operations. The agency aims to further enhance its compliance and accountability measures. NAMA’s focus remains on maintaining high ethical standards and serving the public interest.

The ICPC introduced the Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard in 2019 to promote transparency, integrity, and accountability in public institutions. The annual assessment evaluates compliance with financial regulations and efficiency in service delivery.
