The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom enrolled 2,296 applicants during its first six operational days. The exercise, which commenced on September 7, 2026, is being conducted at the London and Manchester centres for applicants with confirmed appointments.
The total enrolment comprises 587 applicants processed at the London Centre and 1,709 applicants processed at the Manchester Centre. Daily enrolment figures across both centres were 245 on September 7, 401 on September 8, 396 on September 9, 429 on September 10, 406 on September 11 and 419 on September 12.
Intervention Exercise Continues in London, Manchester
The NIS in a statement made available by Service Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Immigration Service, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi,said the exercise has witnessed sustained turnout and the processing of applicants with confirmed appointments across the two centres.
The highest daily enrolment during the first six operational days was recorded on September 10, when 429 applicants were enrolled. This was followed by 419 applicants on September 12 and 406 applicants on September 11.
The intervention exercise continues at the London and Manchester centres. Applicants with confirmed intervention appointments have been assured of service by the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The Service also confirmed that passport production and dispatch for applicants who have completed enrolment have commenced and are progressing steadily.
As part of efforts to ensure effective oversight and quality service delivery, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, undertook a working visit to the Special Passport Intervention Centres in Manchester and London.
The visit was aimed at assessing the exercise firsthand, interfacing with members of the Nigerian community and ensuring that the intervention delivers efficient, responsive and seamless passport services to applicants.
During the working visit, the Comptroller-General inspected activities at the intervention centres as the Service continued the processing of applicants with confirmed appointments.

NIS Appeals for Applicants’ Cooperation
The Nigeria Immigration Service appreciated the patience, understanding and cooperation of members of the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom throughout the exercise.
The Service further urged all applicants to continue cooperating with officials on the ground to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of the intervention.
Applicants with confirmed appointments are expected to continue with the process at the designated London and Manchester centres as the exercise proceeds.
Passport production and dispatch have also commenced for applicants who have already completed enrolment, according to the Service.
The first six operational days ended with a combined 2,296 applicants enrolled across the two centres. Manchester accounted for 1,709 enrolments, while London recorded 587.
The Nigeria Immigration Service said the intervention exercise remains ongoing at both centres and that applicants with confirmed intervention appointments are assured of service.
The Service said its appreciation extends to Nigerians in the United Kingdom for their patience, understanding and cooperation during the passport intervention exercise.
