Ibom Air announces the cessation of its wet leased aircraft operations, marking a pivotal transition.

With the imminent deployment of Ibom Air’s freshly acquired A220-300, the airline bids farewell to its temporary leasing arrangements.

The introduction of the Airbus A220 signifies a milestone, being the first of ten ordered in October 2021.

As the A220 prepares to take flight, the era of relying on two wet-leased Airbus A320s draws to a close.

Acknowledging the shift, Ibom Air’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. George Uriesi, underscores the strategic decision.

“We opted to wet leasing aircraft to meet the growing demand for our product, while we worked on our fleet growth program. Now with these aircraft being delivered, it is time for us to benefit from the significant operating efficiencies and enhanced service the A220-300 brings to the business”.Uriesi asserts.

The A220’s arrival couldn’t be timelier, offering 25% less fuel consumption and superior comfort, safety, and eco-friendliness.

Despite an initial adjustment period, Ibom Air assures passengers of a smoother and more reliable service with the new fleet.
