Speaking during the award presentation, Chairman and Founder of NIGAV Award, Mr. Fortune Idu, described Najomo as a committed aviation professional. Idu noted that from his youth, the Director General shaped his path in the industry under his father’s guidance.

According to Idu, “Najomo’s transformation of the NCAA into a globally recognised brand stems from his experience and dedication to aviation.” He said that the recent accolades were clear recognition of his Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award and the strides made by the NCAA under his leadership.

Furthermore, Chairman of the NIGAV Award Committee and former Managing Director Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Richard Aisuebeogun, praised Najomo’s impact. He described the confirmation of Najomo as substantive DG as a step toward a more stable and effective regulatory body.

Aisuebeogun said, “Under his leadership, NCAA has empowered its Consumer Protection Directorate. They now aggressively address passenger concerns like high fares, delays, and cancellations. This has improved passenger confidence in the system.”

He further revealed that in 2024, the authority began reviewing critical regulatory procedures. These include enhancing technical and economic oversight, reducing licensing bottlenecks, and collaborating with ICAO to review the industry master plan.

Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Micheal Achimugu, praised Najomo’s unwavering commitment. He said, “My DG works tirelessly round the clock. His strategic thinking and people management have inspired staff towards delivering the outstanding results NCAA is achieving.”

Regional Manager, NCAA Lagos Office, Mr. Bukola Aduragbemi Teriba, also lauded the honour. She described the awards as a testament to the transformation of NCAA in the past 16 months.

She added, “Najomo’s astute leadership has revolutionised how we work and regulate the sector. The changes are visible. The awards reflect the staff’s renewed commitment to sustaining progress.”

Also, the Consumer Protection Department (CPD) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has earned recognition for excellent service delivery.  At the industry awards event, CPD won Best Passenger Airport Front Desk Information Service and Best Aviation Customer Service Unit.
