All is set for the 11th Airport Business Summit and Expo Conference (ABSE) Africa 2026, scheduled to hold from July 14 to 16, 2026, at the NIGAV Centre, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The three-day gathering will bring together aviation professionals, regulators, investors and other stakeholders to discuss the future of airport business and air transport development in Nigeria.

Organised annually by FCI, the Airport Business Summit has become one of Africa’s leading aviation platforms. It provides an opportunity for industry players to exchange ideas, identify business opportunities and develop practical strategies for improving airport operations and financial sustainability.

This year’s conference will focus on the theme, “Economies of Enhanced Air Connectivity: Airlines and Airport Integration.” Discussions will centre on strengthening collaboration between airports and airlines while exploring ways to improve passenger experience, boost airport revenues and attract greater private sector investment.

The organisers said the summit is designed to address major air transport concerns from the airport perspective. It will also examine how Nigeria’s airports can become economically sustainable and deliver stronger returns on investment in a sector that has traditionally depended on government funding.

According to a statement by ABSE Chairman, Fortune Idu, the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) are collaborating with the Airport Business Summit Group to ensure the success of the 2026 edition.

Idu said, “The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority are collaborating with the Airport Business Summit Group to ensure the success of ABSE 2026.”

The summit will commence at 9:00 a.m. daily throughout the three-day programme. Participants are expected from across the aviation value chain, including airport operators, airlines, government agencies, service providers, investors and aviation professionals.

The programme features a wide range of activities aimed at encouraging knowledge sharing and business networking. These include a masterclass workshop, airport managers’ presentations, business expo sessions, summit plenaries, technical paper presentations and panel discussions.

In addition, the conference will provide participants with opportunities to explore innovative approaches to airport management, financing and infrastructure development. The discussions are expected to contribute to policies that support stronger airport performance and improved regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, industry stakeholders believe enhanced collaboration between airlines and airports remains essential to unlocking Nigeria’s aviation potential. They also expect the summit to generate practical recommendations that will improve operational efficiency and strengthen investor confidence across the sector.

With growing interest in airport commercialisation and private investment, the Airport Business Summit 2026 is expected to provide an important platform for shaping the future of airport business, air connectivity and sustainable aviation development in Nigeria and across Africa.
