Achievers University Recognises Boyo’s Aviation Contributions

In its citation accompanying the award, Achievers University highlighted Boyo’s contribution to aviation and his leadership qualities. The institution also commended his consistency in running Overland Airways.

The university described his success in the aviation industry as evidence of the qualities of an achiever. It said his accomplishments deserved recognition and should not be taken for granted.

The ceremony attracted prominent political, traditional and business figures. Among them was Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Yakubu Dogara, CFR, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chancellor of the university.

Also present was His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegeshin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo. A management delegation from Landover Company and Overland Airways also attended alongside other distinguished guests.

Boyo Pledges to Become University’s Good Ambassador

In his acceptance speech, Boyo expressed appreciation to the university’s leadership for the recognition. He said he was particularly encouraged by the honour, given the institution’s reputation and academic standing.

“I am mindful of the pedigree and reputation of Achievers University, its promoters and students; and on my part I promise to be a good ambassador of this great University,” he said.

Boyo also described the conferment as the beginning of a relationship between him and the institution. He said the occasion had planted the seed of a great partnership and formally made him a member of the university community.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Aduke Atiba, Executive Director of Landover Company and Overland Airways Limited, celebrated the recognition on behalf of both organisations.

She described the award as well deserved and commended Boyo’s leadership. Atiba expressed confidence that the recognition would encourage him to contribute further to aviation development in Nigeria and across Africa.

She added that the management and staff of both organisations were proud of their founder and leader.

Two Other Personalities Receive Honorary Doctorates

The Achievers University ceremony also recognised two other prominent personalities for their contributions in their respective fields.

They included His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, CFR, Jilo III, the Osemawe of Ondo and Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom.

The university also honoured Engr. Norbert C. Oleah, Founder and Group Chief Executive of Technova Africa International Limited.

Boyo’s Role in African Aviation Integration

Beyond his leadership of Overland Airways, Boyo has contributed to aviation policy development across Africa. He currently serves as the African Union’s Ambassador for West Africa on the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM).

The initiative seeks to advance air transport liberalisation and connectivity across the continent. It also supports efforts to improve market access and strengthen African airlines through a more integrated aviation market.

His recognition by Achievers University therefore highlights his contributions beyond corporate aviation management. It also brings attention to the role of industry leaders in advancing African aviation policy, connectivity and development.
