Air Sierra Leone has signed a major interline agreement with Hahn Air, a global player in ticketing and distribution partnerships. The move marks an Air Sierra Leone partnership expansion.
This strategic alliance integrates the West African carrier into Hahn Air’s global network of over 350 airline partners. It also allows global travel agents to issue Air Sierra Leone tickets under the 6L code through Hahn Air’s HR-169 platform, which includes insolvency protection.
This development strengthens the airline’s reach. Group Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Sukh Mann said describing the agreement as a milestone in the airline’s regional and global growth plans. He confirmed that bookings can now be made through leading Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport.
“This interline agreement gives our airline broader market access,” Mann said. “We are now bookable in standard GDS platforms used globally.”
Air Sierra Leone, officially launched in September 2024, operates scheduled international flights from its base in Freetown. Its flagship route, Freetown–London, is serviced by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, while the Freetown–Lagos route uses an Embraer 145 aircraft. Additional routes are expected soon, offering more options for passengers connecting into or out of Sierra Leone.
“This partnership is a milestone in our mission to connect Sierra Leone to key international destinations,” Mann stated. “Through Hahn Air, we can now reach more customers and give agents worldwide confidence to book our flights easily.”
Mann added that the Air Sierra Leone partnership expansion provides enhanced booking convenience for travel agents. With the interline setup, agents no longer need direct airline relationships or backend technical setups to sell Air Sierra Leone inventory.
In the broader context, Hahn Air has remained a dependable link between travel agencies and emerging or regional carriers seeking international distribution. The agreement reinforces Hahn Air’s commitment to providing seamless and secure ticketing solutions.
With the deal now active, agents anywhere can issue Air Sierra Leone tickets using Hahn Air’s globally recognized HR-169 form. This simplifies sales across markets where the Sierra Leonean carrier is not yet directly connected.
According to industry experts, interline partnerships like this are especially vital for newer carriers looking to build global visibility without heavy infrastructure investments. It also gives passengers more flexibility when booking multi-leg journeys involving Sierra Leone.
Air Sierra Leone’s inclusion in Hahn Air’s trusted platform not only boosts ticketing capacity but also builds global credibility. It ensures passengers flying to or from West Africa can book with peace of mind.
The airline reiterated its goal of offering safe, efficient, and comfortable travel while bridging West Africa with major international hubs. With Hahn Air now on board, industry watchers expect Air Sierra Leone to strengthen ties with more regions and eventually enter larger alliances.
Travel professionals seeking to book or explore the airline’s expanding route network are encouraged to visit the Hahn Air Partner Carriers section at www.hahnair.com. There, they can find complete instructions and support materials for working with Air Sierra Leone via the HR-169 system.
As global travel rebounds, the Air Sierra Leone partnership expansion represents a timely opportunity for the carrier to establish a stronger footprint in international markets.
