Arik Air in Receivership’s failure to meet airlift schedule has left hundreds of intending Nigerians pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the spiritual 2023 hajj exercise are currently stranded at the Muhammad Murtala International Airport, MMIA Lagos.
This is just as the pilgrims have stormed Arik office in a bid to get justice for the inhumane treatment meted on them in the last four days
Information available show that this has crippled operations of most of the international hajj operators under the Association For Hajj And Umrah Operators Of Nigeria (AHUON) Lagos zone as scores of their intending pilgrims have been sleeping at Mosques and various open places around the Lagos international airport premises since Tuesday.
A visit to the new MMIA terminal on Wednesday and Thursday saw Pilgrims in their hundreds around the terminal building entrance hanging around feeling frustrated and blaming their carrier, Arik Air as they have been there for days, without comfort or convenience.
As at the time of filing in this report the pilgrims are already at Arik Air office gate and counters protesting what they described as the inhumane treatment meted at them
Arik Air is one of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON’s accredited carriers for 2023 hajj exercise.
