
Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister at the weekend commended efforts by the Nigerian Aviation Award( NIGAV) following its successful crowning of the King and Queen of the Air at the 13th NIGAV Awards.
The event themed,”A Strategic Repositioning of the Air Transportation Sector, featured the presentation of awards in three categories: special industry recognition awards, voted awards, and the crowning of the King and Queen of the Air.
Keyamo crowned Miracle Okechuckwu of Valujet and Tiger Opunabo of Arik Air Ltd. as King and Queen of the Air.
The winners received a cash prize of N1,000,000 donated by SANTOS Aviation United States. The organisation has sponsored the pageant for the second year running.
Keyamo praised NIGAV’s founder, Fortune Idu, for organizing a remarkable event and urged continued excellence.
Idu emphasized the awards’ role in fostering industry harmony, promoting competition, and supporting charity initiatives.
The NIGAV Awards also aimed to support SOS Children’s Village and recognize outstanding organizations in the aviation sector.
