Zone A Headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service, enjoyed numerous project commissioned as Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji- Ojo and Comptroller General of Immigration, Caroline Wura-ola, Adepoju visited.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji – Ojo, who went round commissioning the projects commended the commitment of the NIS to effective service delivery. He stressed that the new facilities must be meticulously maintained.
He urged them, †If you can’t maintain government facilities, there is no point working in the public sector.
“Personnel should be image makers, so treat government facilities and Nigerians with care and respect,†he said.
Also speaking, Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGIS), Mrs Wura – Ola Adepoju, called on Nigerians to support the service by ensuring they go for passport renewals six months before expiration.
†Do not wait till your passport expires before you start hammering NIS,â€she said .
Assistant Comptroller General Zone A, Kehinde Sadiq who played host highlighted the role of partners who seek improvement of the service through Corporate Social Responsibility.
He commended their unwavering support for the NIS in meeting some of the Zone’s major projects including Redesigned Quarter Guard replicating the edifice in the Service Headquarters, Abuja
Other projects include, the Remodelled Zonal Office Gate, a befitting guard house, upgraded security post, car park expansion, replacement of the underutilised 250 KVA Diesel generator with a 50 KVA Generator courtesy of JMG among others.
He applauded partners and donors including Tolaram Groups of Companies, Golden Silk Industries Limited, Saba Steel Industries Limited, KPMG Professional Services, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), Sifax Group, CBD Trading Investment Limited Tower Alloys Industries Limited, Buildwell Plants and Equipments Limited among many others.
