Eyewitnesses at the airport reported that the emergency response team acted swiftly, ensuring the passengers and crew exited the aircraft safely.

At 2257 hrs on Tuesday, January 29, a Max Air aircraft with the registration number 5N-MBD suffered a tyre burst at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) brought on by a suspected nose landing gear collapse. The aircraft was carrying 53 passengers when the incident occurred, but all passengers were safely evacuated without any major injuries. The flight, VM1605, had departed from Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMA), Lagos, bound for Kano.  

Eyewitnesses at the airport reported that the emergency response team acted swiftly, ensuring the passengers and crew exited the aircraft safely. Meanwhile, officials from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and other relevant agencies have begun an investigation into the cause of the tyre burst.
