Kwara State Empowers 31 Students for Aviation Careers

IAC organises orientation program for 31

The International Aviation College, Ilorin, organized an orientation program for 31 students sponsored by the 16 local governments in Kwara State for the Flight Dispatcher Course.

During the event on Tuesday, 21st November 2023, the Business Development Officer, Adetutu Kehinde Ajayi, welcomed dignitaries to the only state-owned Aviation College in Nigeria.

Acting Rector, Captain Yakubu Okatahi, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq and Deputy Kayode Alabi for supporting the College. He assured that the College Management would fulfill the state and local governments’ trust.

Also, Chairman of ALGON, Kwara State Chapter, Hon. Olajide Shonibare, thanked the  government for encouraging LGAs to sponsor students for Flight Dispatchers’ Course. He expressed optimism about job opportunities for the sponsored students.

Similarly, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs) Mary Arinde, applauded the governor for youth development. She urged students to make judicious use of the opportunity for the overall interest of their LGs and Kwara State.

Furthermore, Chairman of the Governing Council, Alhaji Ahmed Gobir, appreciated the State for supporting ALGON to sponsor indigenes for the course, promising automatic employment for the best student.

The Chief Ground Instructor, Mr. Mohammed O., advised students to prepare for a rigorous 6-month academic exercise.

In his vote of thanks, the Registrar, Mr. Mohammed Jimada Jibril, thanked dignitaries for honoring the invitation, assuring them of the College’s commitment.
