King and Queen of the Air Receive AAAU Scholarship Boost

The King and Queen of the Air emerged at the 15th Nigerian Aviation Awards. The event held during the NIGAV Awards and Ministerial Dinner in Lagos. Representing Arik Air, Adeyemi Adebote, and from Ibom Air, Ubani Blossom, claimed the prestigious King and Queen titles after scoring 230 points each, therefore sealing a rare and remarkable tie.

The emergence of the King and Queen of the Air immediately drew industry attention at the Nigerian Aviation Awards. Meanwhile, the Acting Vice Chancellor of African Aviation and Aerospace University, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullah, announced a major reward. He offered both King and Queen winners a fully funded Master’s degree scholarship on behalf of the Governing Council.

According to the Acting Vice Chancellor, the scholarship for the King and Queen is designed to promote professionalism and continuous learning. In addition, it supports aviation personnel who demonstrate excellence in frontline service roles. He stressed that the King and Queen represent the highest standards of cabin crew performance, therefore reinforcing safety culture and passenger satisfaction across the aviation industry.

At AAAU, investing in people remains central to building a globally competitive industry.” He further explained that the university continues to develop specialised programmes tailored to evolving global aviation demands and best practices.

The recognition of the King and Queen of the Air reflects more than individual achievement. It highlights the critical role cabin crew members play in shaping passenger experience. Meanwhile, both Arik Air and Ibom Air gain increased visibility through the success of their King and Queen representatives.

In addition, the university recorded major recognition at the ceremony. The Acting Vice Chancellor received the Aviation Academic Excellence Award. Furthermore, the institution secured the Most Promising Training Institution Award. These honours reinforce AAAU’s growing reputation as a centre of excellence in aviation education.
