Industry shake up hits aviation agencies with waves of redeployment, appointments

FOLLOWING the exit of Captain Fola Akinkuotu as Managing Director Nigerian Airspace Management Agency( NAMA), the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika has also approved the appointment and redeployment of some Directors and key officers as special assistants in the Ministry,

Sirika’s gale of appointments and redeployments and removals affected officers in the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, (NAMA), others include the Nigerian Meteorological Agency ( NiMet) and the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB). READ ALSO: Captain Akinkuotu makes way as NAMA MD; Minister appoints Pwajok to oversee agency

In a circular signed for the Minister by the Director Human Resources Management, S.D Muhammad says, officers deployed to the minister’s office are to continue to draw their salaries and other entitlements from the agencies of deployment.

The circular also stated that all handing and taking over exercises be completed before the close of work on Friday 21st, 2022.

The new appointments in NAMA are as follows; Musa Mai- Salihu Director, Human Resources Management and Hauwa Usara as company Secretary in NAMA.

Mr. Chris Najomo is appointed as the Director Air Transport Regulation in NCAA, Adamu Wakili as Director Human Resources Management, Mr. Ajiboye Isiaka as Director, Airworthiness Standards and Bahagio Agio as Director, Licensing and Training Standards.

While in FAAN, Ali Maina is Director Engineering while Gold Iwinose is company secretary and legal adviser replacing  Clifford Imade Omozeghiano Company Secretary/Legal Adviser other directors are retained by their previous directorates.

At the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Capt Dayyabu Danraka who was first appointed as Director of Operations got his appointment confirmed and retained his position.

Mohammed Wali is Director, Engineering, Salisu Auwal is now Director, Human Resources and Kakangi Aliyu is Legal Adviser.

At the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET), Mohammed Daku retained his position as Director, Human Resources, Charles Anosike was appointed as Director AMS, Abdul Ahmed, Director, Legal; Saad Bashie, director, Director, Engineering and Technical Services; Abba Mailabi Yusuf is Director, Weather Forecasting Services, Effiom Essien Oku appointed Director, Research and Training and Hamza Sani Hamza as Director, Finance and Accounts.

Seven officers from across the aviation agencies were redeployed to the ministry as special assistants to the Minister.
