Ibom Air marks the 2024 World Malaria Day with the launch of its signature CSR project, FAM-pact (Fight Against Malaria in Pregnant Women and Children Today). The Ibom Air’s FAM-pact initiative demonstrates its commitment to addressing malaria among pregnant women and young children in the communities it serves.
FAM-pact aims to significantly reduce malaria prevalence in vulnerable groups through strategic interventions. These include awareness campaigns, distribution of insecticide-treated nets, provision of malaria medications, and community outreach programs. Ibom Air has donated nets, medications, and educational materials to the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, benefiting communities directly.
To boost awareness and support, Ibom Air invites the public to a solidarity walk against malaria on April 27th at 6 am, starting at the Globe at Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo. This walk symbolizes unity in the fight against malaria.
Mrs. Imelda Aba, Group Manager for Corporate Services, states, “Ibom Air’s CSR focus is on health education and community development. We partner with organizations caring for infants and children, facilitating interventions like corrective heart surgeries. This year, we launch Ibom Air’s FAM-pact initiative to collaboratively combat malaria in our society.”
Ibom Air acknowledges the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, National End Malaria Council, PMI-S, Break-Through Action, and other stakeholders. It calls on individuals and organizations to join FAM-pact and contribute to defeating malaria for a healthier future.
