Hon. Kudla Satumari Haske has called for deepened synergy among aviation agencies for effective emergency response and a sustainable approach to safety. This call was made at the Nigerian Aviation Fire and Safety Association (NAFSA) Biennial Conference 2024, which he chaired.

Haske, the Accountable Manager of Aerokeys Nigeria Limited, delivered the keynote address at the conference with this theme.

The theme was: “Rationale for Collaborations and Inclusiveness in Emergency Response Geared Toward Achieving the Aviation Roadmap.”

He said, “With the current state of global practice in terms of emergency response, it is necessary to create awareness.”

“We must examine possible ways to work together as team players to reduce risks of failure during emergencies.”

“I urge the heads of aviation agencies and other attendees to support the advocacy for inclusiveness in emergency response.”

“This inclusiveness is essential as presented by this conference theme.”

Haske further urged collaboration with NAFSA, the umbrella body for all professional aviation firefighters, on this important advocacy. He emphasized that increasing the capacities of emergency responders, whose responsibility is primarily risk management and coordination, is crucial in achieving the aviation roadmap.

He further highlighted key benefits: shared knowledge and expertise, interoperability and coordination, comprehensive risk assessment, and enhanced situational awareness. Additionally, he mentioned improved resource allocation, increased stakeholder trust and confidence, alignment with global standards and best practices, and adaptive and resilient systems.

“By embracing collaborations and inclusiveness in emergency response, the aviation industry can achieve a more effective, efficient, and sustainable approach to safety, ultimately supporting the achievement of the aviation roadmap,” he concluded.

One highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to some heads of aviation parastatals. NAFSA awarded MD/CE FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, for outstanding performance in staff welfare. Similarly, it gave MD NAMA, Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk, and acting DG NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, awards for being the most performing MD/DGs.

National President of NAFSA, Comrade Ugbeikwu Sunday, while speaking, stressed that the recognized personalities deserved their honors, as they have demonstrated pragmatic leadership and exceptional acumen in their various agencies. Furthermore, Sunday commended their immense contributions to the success and growth of NAFSA.
