In a bold step that reshapes digital connectivity for Nigerians, Emosim has officially launched an outbound travel eSIM, offering seamless communication in over 190 countries with over 600+ connectivity options. Emosim, which combines voice calls, SMS, and mobile data without the hassle of physical SIM cards or airport delays, is being hailed as a homegrown solution with global reach. It is also setting a precedent for African innovation by simplifying travel communication for millions.

The landmark unveiling was held on Wednesday, May 27, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, introduced its cutting-edge platform aimed at eliminating roaming hassles for travelers and entrepreneurs.

Chairman and Founder of Emosim, Jimmy Eboma, described the launch as a turning point for Nigerians on the move. He said the innovation bridges global digital divides and positions Nigeria as a leader in the international telecommunications space.

“Today marks a pivotal moment, not just for Emosim, but for every Nigerian traveler, entrepreneur, and dreamer who has ever felt the weight of the world’s digital divides,” Eboma stated.

He continued, “I stand before you not only as the Chairman of Emosim but as a witness to Africa’s unstoppable rise. A continent where challenges ignite innovation, and where solutions born here redefine possibilities for the globe.”

Eboma highlighted the common difficulties faced by Nigerians abroad—including high roaming charges, SIM card delays, and unreliable networks—and revealed how Emosim simplifies global access.

“With one tap, users can connect globally without switching SIM cards or incurring hidden fees,” he explained. “This is not just technology; it’s a revolution. Emosim offers 600 connectivity options across 190 countries, engineered for reliability and designed with Nigerians in mind.”

He credited the milestone to strong collaboration with Tata Communications and a dedicated local team that turned a bold vision into a reality.

“Connectivity is no longer a luxury; it is a lifeline,” Eboma stressed. “With Emosim, we are not only connecting Nigeria to the world but unlocking potential and creating opportunities without borders.”

According to him, Emosim was built to serve more than just individual users. It targets a broad ecosystem of international travelers, businesses seeking global expansion, families maintaining long-distance relationships, and governments pursuing digital excellence.

The event drew key figures from Nigeria’s tech and policy spheres, including the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (represented), and the immediate past EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Danbatta, alongside other dignitaries, investors, and digital stakeholders.

While closing Eboma declared, “Africa does not follow trends. We set them. Nigeria does not wait for the future. We build it. Together, let’s ensure no Nigerian is left offline, no dreamer left unheard, and no border limits our reach. The future is seamless. The future is borderless. The future is here.”

As Nigeria continues its digital transformation journey, Emosim stands as a testament to the country’s capability to build world-class solutions that meet international needs.
