Emirates extends condolences to family of deceased passenger

EMIRATES this afternoon confirmed the death of one of its passengers on its flight EK 783 to Lagos from Dubai last Friday expressing its condolences to the family.
The airline in a statement said,“Emirates can confirm that our cabin crew on board flight EK 783 from Dubai to Lagos on 15 December found a passenger unconscious in her seat, as the flight was preparing for decent. Our cabin crew consulted doctors on board the flight and on the ground via Emirates’ Medlink system, however the passenger was unresponsive. Upon arrival in Lagos, the medical authorities on ground declared that the passenger had sadly passed away. Emirates expresses condolences to the family”
It was reported that the passenger with passport number A07562816 was a young woman.
Immediately on arrival, the airline crew notified the medical team of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) who immediately swung into action, but the deceased was confirmed dead by Dr. Akano of FAAN Medical at 16:35hr.
Once confirmed, FAAN officials together with the staff of the airline at the Lagos Airport evacuated her body from the aircraft, loaded her in a FAAN ambulance and moved her to the general hospital in Ikeja.
