Delta’s free Wi-Fi service will extend to international long-haul routes, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal, by early 2025. The airline began rolling out the service, powered by T-Mobile, on select Viasat-equipped flights this summer. This rollout marks a major step in Delta’s mission to provide reliable, high-quality connectivity across its global fleet.

The expansion of Delta’s free Wi-Fi service started in August 2024. It covers routes to the United Kingdom, Germany, and other European destinations. By December 2024 and January 2025, flights to West Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal, will also offer this service. The rollout will continue throughout 2025, extending to the Trans-Pacific region and South Africa.

Currently, Delta provides free streaming-quality Wi-Fi on nearly 700 aircraft, which covers over 90% of its domestic mainline fleet. The airline plans to extend this service to most international customers by the end of the year.

Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Design, highlighted the complexity of the rollout. He also noted Delta’s dedication to enhancing in-flight experiences for all travelers.

As the service expands, Delta will introduce the Delta Sync Wi-Fi experience. This new feature, linked to SkyMiles memberships, will offer personalized onboard experiences and exclusive offers. The full integration of this feature is expected later this year.
