Boeing will meet commercial aircraft delivery demand by 2030, predicts Gediminas Ziemelis, chairman of Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI and wet-lease provider.

Ziemelis shared his outlook after visiting Boeing’s Seattle facilities for a ceremonial signing with Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope. The Dublin-based aviation group had placed an order for up to 80 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets in November 2023, comprising 40 firm orders and 40 options.

Both Boeing and Airbus have faced supply chain challenges since the pandemic, impacting their delivery capabilities. Boeing delivered 348 jets in 2024, with a backlog of over 5,500 orders, while Airbus fell short of its target with 776 deliveries.

Ziemelis expressed confidence in Boeing’s recovery, stating, “Boeing is turning the corner on its production issues.” He anticipates a return to 2018 production levels by 2030, with minimal delivery disruptions beyond 2026.

The chairman dismissed critics of Airbus and Boeing, emphasizing Avia Solutions Group’s trust in Boeing’s aircraft and long-term stability. The new order strengthens the Group’s ties to the U.S. market, following a €300 million investment by Certares Management and Knighthead Capital in 2021.

Avia Solutions Group, headquartered in Dublin, is a global leader in aviation services, operating across six continents.
