BRITISH Airways, in an effort to enlighten business travellers manage finances at this time of recession, is aiding them manage their travel budget through its ‘On Business Loyalty Programme’, with the aim of helping them adjust their travelling plans, through the challenges of recession.
The airline at the recently held on Business Breakfast Event 2016 at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria, educated top business travellers on how to manage their travel budgets through the program.
British Airways On Business is a loyalty programme for savvy business travellers, and it is available through free membership.
By registering, the On Business Loyalty Programme offers its members an option to choose either a discount on selected flights or to earn points as they book eligible American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia and partner airline flights with a British Airways flight number.
Those in attendance at the Eko Hotel event include, top business executives, CEOs and other stakeholders from diverse business sectors in Nigeria among which were Mr. Bolaji Balogun, the Chief Executive Officer, Chapel Hill Denham and Mr. John Woodruff, Deputy Director, Department for International Trade; who gave speeches respectively at the event.
Mr. Kola Olayinka, British Airways Regional Commercial Manager at his opening speech said, “The event was about the attendees, their businesses and how to make it all better by taking advantage of On business loyalty programme to cleverly save and manage their travel budget especially now that Nigeria is going through tough times with the recession.”
According to the National Association of Nigeria travel Agency, NANTA, Nigerians spent over 5 billion dollars in 2015 on travel expenses. In 2016, the aviation industry has been affected by the recession and this has reduced travel expenses for business owners.

You can also redeem On business points against reward flights and upgrades. In addition to this, you can also earn personal Avios for the same flights.
Adetutu Otuyalo, British Airways Corporate Sales Manager, during her presentation said that, “On business was actually created for business owners who want to get more from traveling and now travel can be more rewarding.” Those that attended were given discounts off their next flights on British Airways. There was also a raffle draw with free Business Class ticket won by one of the guests at the event.
