Air Peace has recorded a major milestone on its new Barbados route after operating its first scheduled direct commercial service from Lagos with more than 284 passengers onboard.
The historic flight, operated on May 24, 2026, signals growing demand for direct connectivity between Africa and the Caribbean. The airline deployed its Boeing 777 aircraft for the inaugural operation, further strengthening Nigeria’s expanding international aviation reach.
Among dignitaries onboard were Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Nowel Ngala; Barbados High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia, Ambassador Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland; and renowned Nigerian actress, Ms. Temitope Olowoniyan, alongside other airline officials and passengers.
The new Barbados service is expected to reduce travel stress for passengers who previously relied on multiple transit points and lengthy stopovers before reaching Caribbean destinations. In addition, travellers often faced complex visa processes linked to connecting flights through Europe or North America.
