ValueJet will begin Lagos-Accra operations on March 30, 2026, marking a major regional step. The airline confirmed daily flights between Nigeria and Ghana as part of its West African expansion. This move strengthens ValueJet’s growing footprint beyond domestic routes.

The new service follows the airline’s successful international debut to Banjul, The Gambia. In addition, ValueJet is targeting more regional hubs, including Cotonou and Malabo. Therefore, the Accra route becomes a central pillar in its broader regional strategy.
Managing Director, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, said the Accra service aligns with ValueJet’s vision. He noted that the airline aims to improve connectivity along the West African corridor. Meanwhile, the route is expected to support trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
Flights will depart daily from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 8:00am. Return services from Accra to Lagos will depart at 9:00am. Passengers can now book tickets through the airline’s official website.
To support this expansion, ValueJet recently inducted CRJ-1000 aircraft into its fleet. These aircraft are designed for efficient regional and domestic operations. As a result, passengers can expect improved reliability and comfort on the route.
Capt. Majekodunmi expressed strong optimism about the launch and its wider impact. He described the Lagos-Accra route as a significant milestone for ValueJet’s continental ambitions. In addition, he emphasised the airline’s commitment to delivering quality service.
He said the new route would strengthen economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and Ghana. According to him, the service will also open new opportunities for business and tourism. Therefore, ValueJet positions itself as a key connector in the region.
The airline also hinted at promotional fares and special packages for travellers. These offers are expected to make the route more attractive and accessible. Meanwhile, passengers can anticipate a seamless travel experience.
With support from the Ghana Airports Company Limited, operations are set for a smooth launch. This partnership is expected to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Consequently, travellers will benefit from improved airport handling and coordination.
ValueJet’s expansion reflects a broader trend among African carriers seeking regional dominance. However, consistent service delivery and competitive pricing will remain critical. The airline appears focused on balancing growth with customer satisfaction.
