NAHCO Announces New Board Appointments as Three Members Retire

NAHCO Plc, in response to retirements, has welcomed Mr. Abdulhamid Aliyu and Revd. Victor Abimbola Olaiya as non-executive directors.

According to the Company Secretary, Mr. Bello Abdullahi, this decision follows the December 31, 2023, retirement of Engr. Mohammed Gambo Umar, Sir Sunday Nnamdi Nwosu, and Engr. Solagbade Olukayode Alabi from the board.

Aliyu, born in 1963, is a seasoned professional with diverse experiences. His career started in 1988 as an Investment Officer at the Nigerian Agricultural & Cooperative Bank.

Certified by the London Graduate School, Aliyu holds a Doctor of Business Administration in Oil and Gas (Honoris Causa). He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and a Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Exchange.

Revd. Olaiya, born in 1956, brings over three decades of Oil & Gas expertise. His career highlights include roles such as Facilities Engineer and General Manager at ExxonMobil’s Upstream Affiliates.

Aside from his corporate achievements, Olaiya served as the Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Lagos Section 61 in 1988 and retired as the pastor of New Insight Baptist Church, Ogudu, Lagos, in October 2021.

The statement from NAHCO also revealed that the process of appointing a replacement for the retired Independent Non-Executive Director is currently in progress.
