4th CHINET Conference Unites Aviation Cargo, Insurance Powerhouses in Lagos

Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, the Insurance Commissioner, will join aviation and cargo leaders, regulators, and insurance professionals at the 4th CHINET Aviacargo Conference in Lagos. Organized by ATQNEWS Ltd, the event on holds August 22.

Insurance plays a vital role this year with discussions focusing on the relationship between airlines and insurance, led by Mr. Eddie Efekoha, GMD of Consolidated Hallmark Holdings. Notably, Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, the former Chairman of the African Insurance Brokers Association, will participate. Additionally, Mr. Dayo Arowojolu, MD of Unitrust Insurance Co. Ltd., Mr. Moruf Apampa, CEO of NSIA Insurance, and Mr. Babajide Fajemirokun, MD/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc., will also attend.

The Acting DG of NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, will address aviation regulations for air cargo. Meanwhile, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, MD of FAAN, along with the Directorate of Cargo Development Services, will showcase FAAN’s pivotal role in growing air cargo in Nigeria. 

Capt. Edward Boyo, CEO of one of Nigeria’s most successful airlines, will share his experiences with the audience. The aviation panel will be moderated by the General Secretary of the Aviation Round Table, Olumide Ohunayo. Panelists include Dr. Alex Nwuba, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria.

The Guest Speaker, Dr. Daniel Mckorley, Chairman of MCDAN Aviation Ghana, will deliver insights. Presentations will also cover the role of airports in air cargo growth, delivered by the Acting COO of MMA2, Remi Jibodu. The COO of Ibom Air, George Uriesi, will speak on airlines’ contributions to developing air cargo. Capt. John Ojikutu will discuss opportunities for domestic air cargo in Nigeria, while Ayo Ife-Lewis of Greater Washington will address the challenges. 

Export integrity and security will be discussed by Mrs. Nkechi Onyeso, CEO of Pathfinders. Additionally, NAFDAC and Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) will highlight their roles in ensuring product integrity in exports. Freight forwarders NAGAFF and APFFLON will explain their contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s air cargo business.

With so many important topics on the agenda, this conference is essential for all concerned professionals.
