Air Sierra Leone has opened tickets sales for passengers ahead of its planned return to scheduled operations in October 2026. The airline said travellers can now secure bookings through its official website, authorised travel agencies, or its office. The development marks a key step towards restoring international connectivity. It also allows passengers to secure preferred travel dates before the Winter Season operations begin.
Air Sierra Leone Ticket Sales Target Key London Routes
The airline is encouraging passengers to make early tickets sales bookings as it prepares to reconnect Sierra Leone with important regional and international markets. Its planned network includes Freetown-London and Banjul-London services, alongside other West African destinations. Meanwhile, the airline said its return will focus on safety, reliability, and a seamless passenger experience across its expanding network.
In a brief interview, Group Chief Operating Officer of XeJet Limited and technical partner to Air Sierra Leone, Sukh Mann, confirmed that the airline had completed approval processes for reinstating key routes. Mann said the decision followed the grounding of Ascend Airways, which previously supported operations.
“It was very important for Air Sierra Leone to reinstate these key markets, particularly Freetown-London and Banjul-London. We have completed the necessary approval processes following the grounding of Ascend Airways.”
Mann added that Air Sierra Leone has appointed a new partner airline to support operations. However, he said the airline will announce the partner at a later stage. This move is expected to strengthen operational continuity as the carrier returns to long-haul services.
New Product to Support Tickets Sales
The Chief Operating Officer said passengers should expect a stronger product when services resume. According to Mann, the airline plans to deploy larger aircraft on key international routes.
“Passengers can expect a better product, with larger aircraft, improved onboard experience, in-flight entertainment and premium economy on these important international routes.”
This upgrade could make the return more attractive for passengers travelling between West Africa and the United Kingdom. Larger aircraft may also increase seat availability during peak demand periods. Therefore, early tickets sales bookings may become important for passengers seeking specific travel dates.
Air Sierra Leone currently promotes connections involving Freetown, London Gatwick, Lagos, and Banjul on its official platform. Its network also includes Freetown-Lagos and Freetown-Gambia services.
The airline’s announcement comes as expectations for reliability and service quality remain high across African aviation.
