TAAG Angola Airlines, in partnership with Boeing, adds four fuel-efficient 787 Dreamliners to its fleet. CEO Eduardo Fairen emphasizes modern, efficient planes for intercontinental connections.
Fairen states, “The 787 option suits our intent for modern, size-wise and efficient equipment, able to progressively replace our current widebody fleet, and provide our customers with an improved flight experience.â€
Boeing’s Anbessie Yitbarek notes, “The Dreamliner will enable TAAG Angola Airlines to open new routes and expand their international network.â€
Currently operating five 777-300ERs, three 777-200ERs, and seven 737-700s across 12 destinations, TAAG aims for fleet modernization.
Boeing predicts Africa’s need for 1,025 airplanes in the next two decades, driven by a forecasted air traffic growth of 7.4%, surpassing the global average of 6.1%. The 787 family, in service since 2011, has launched over 370 new nonstop routes worldwide.
