Overland Airways resumes Lagos Abuja Warri flights, reconnecting Nigeria’s economic hubs with the oil-rich Delta State. The resumed flight operations became effective May 20, 2025.

Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic airline now operates scheduled flights between Warri (Osubi Airport), Lagos, and Abuja every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. According to the airline, this recommencement responds directly to passenger demand and regional air connectivity.

Flight schedules reveal that services from Lagos to Warri depart at 8:15 a.m., while return flights leave Warri for Lagos at 12:30 p.m. Flights from Warri to Abuja are scheduled to take off at 9:25 a.m., with return Abuja-Warri flights departing at 11:05 a.m.

Chief Operating Officer Overland Airways, Mrs. Aderonke Emmanuel-James, said: “Overland Airways resumption of flight services to Warri is in response to the yearnings of our customers for reliable air transport to connect the city and its environs with Abuja and Lagos. This flight will support important economic and social linkages between the people of Delta State and other parts of Nigeria. Passengers on the Warri service can connect seamlessly across our network to destinations in Northern and Southwestern Nigeria. To fully support this aspiration, we are deploying on the route our brand-new Embraer E-175 jet aircraft which features Premium and Economy Class cabins.”

The new jet service underscores the airline’s commitment to efficient and modern air travel, as the Embraer E-175 aircraft offers enhanced passenger comfort. The addition of the jet expands the airline’s fleet, which has evolved from all-turboprop to a mixed fleet model.

Overland Airways resumes Lagos Abuja Warri route as part of its strategic route network expansion. Recently, it restored operations to Jalingo in Taraba State and launched new flights to Minna, the capital of Niger State, from both Lagos and Abuja.

According to Mrs. Emmanuel-James, the airline intends to increase frequency on the Warri route. “We have commenced three weekly flight services from Warri to Abuja and Lagos with plans to scale up the services to a daily operation in the coming weeks. We express our appreciation to the Management and Staff of Osubi Airport for their support and assure our customers of the consistent and reliable flight services that Overland Airways is noted for,” she added.

Overland Airways has continually focused on enhancing operational standards. In October 2024, the airline renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification for the fifth consecutive time. This accomplishment affirms its reputation as a safe and leading carrier within Africa.

The airline’s latest move not only enhances national connectivity but also supports local commerce, oil industry mobility, and tourism potential in Delta State.

For travellers in and out of Warri, the resumption of flights offers faster, more dependable alternatives to road transport. The three-day weekly service comes at a time when stakeholders are pushing for improved regional aviation services across Nigeria.

Passengers may book flights via Overland Airways’ official website and designated sales outlets. The airline assures the public of strict safety protocols and top-class customer service.
