No directive to replace Lagos Airport Runway Lights with Kano Airport Lights, NCAA reacts to reports

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Nigeria Civil Authority (NCAA) has reacted to a report claiming the  Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, has ordered the removal of airfield lights at Mallam Aminu Kano International to replace the missing airfield lights at Runway 18R at Murtala Muhammad International Airport Lagos.

The regulatory body of civil aviation in Nigeria, which said the report has gone viral on social media debunked the information stressing that it is not aware of any directive to remove any of the several airfield light systems at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The NCAA noted that the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano is among the five International airports in the country close to receiving certification as required by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The statement signed by the Director General, Civil Aviation, Captain Musa Nuhu assured the traveling public that it will leave no stone unturned in ensuring continuous safety of flight operations in all sectors of civil aviation in Nigeria.
