Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has received the Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year Award for aviation ground handling excellence. The honour was presented by Transport Day Media in recognition of its exceptional performance and contribution to Nigeria’s aviation sector in the 2024 operating year.
The award was formally presented Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, during the Transport Day Annual Lecture. The event also featured key industry players in Nigeria’s transportation space, including aviation, maritime, and road sectors.
Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Transport Day Media, Mr. Frank Kintum, commended NAHCO for its resilience and consistent industry leadership. He stated that the company’s strength and brand reputation remain a point of pride for the Nigerian aviation community.
“It is a company that the aviation community should be proud of. NAHCO represents excellence in operations and innovation,” Mr. Kintum said during the ceremony.
The latest recognition for aviation ground handling excellence adds to NAHCO’s growing list of accolades in 2025. Earlier this year, the company won the Champion of the Industry Award from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). It also clinched the Aviation Handling Company of the Year Award from Air Transport Quarterly.
Responding to the award, Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, NAHCO Plc, Dr. Sola Obabori, described the honour as well-deserved. He noted that NAHCO’s contributions to the aviation sector have been both impactful and widely acknowledged.
“This award is well-deserved because everyone in the aviation sector recognises the important role NAHCO plays in the industry,” said Dr. Obabori. He added that NAHCO’s success in 2024 laid a solid foundation for improved shareholder value and stronger performance in 2025.
According to him, the company’s continuous focus on sustainability also played a key role in its recognition. He revealed that NAHCO has implemented technology-driven procedures to minimise idling time of ground vehicles, thereby cutting fuel use and reducing emissions.
