The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) will host its 29th Annual Conference on Thursday, 7 August 2025, in Lagos. Thís year’s edition will hold at the Providence Hotel, GRA Ikeja, starting by 9:00 AM. The theme for this year’s gathering is aviation financing in Nigeria, an issue stakeholders consider vital to industry progress.

The forum will assemble policy makers, regulators, financial institutions, and airline operators to examine growth prospects in the sector.

Chairman LAAC Conference Committee, Mr Wole Shadare, emphasized the significance of the 2025 edition. According to him, the gathering serves as a platform for collaboration on investment, infrastructure development, and policy reform.

“It is more than an event,” he explained, “It is a critical dialogue space shaping Nigeria’s aviation future.”

This year’s topics will span a wide range of relevant issues driving or hindering aviation sector advancement. These include infrastructure development at airports, aircraft leasing strategies, and funding challenges in Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO).

The discussions will also cover aviation fuel pricing, navigational infrastructure, and regulatory adjustments for consumer protection. Insurance and risk management will feature alongside investment strategies to attract private capital into the aviation value chain.

As evidence of growing interest, major Nigerian banks and financial institutions have pledged full participation and support. State governments with aviation assets will also be present, reflecting rising sub-national commitment to industry development.

Similarly, all aviation regulatory bodies have confirmed attendance. These include domestic and international airlines and airport service firms. Travel agencies, ground handling operators, and insurance providers will be part of the comprehensive industry presence at the conference.

Notably, the forum continues to build a legacy as a knowledge-sharing hub for Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem. It brings together diverse actors to evaluate opportunities and map actionable outcomes for industry reform and investment.

The aviation financing in Nigeria theme reflects the nation’s urgency to tackle infrastructural gaps and capital constraints. As the industry emerges from post-pandemic challenges, stakeholders are exploring new models for sustainable aviation investment.

This year’s LAAC Conference is expected to produce workable recommendations, especially in attracting funding for public and private operators. Industry analysts believe the timing is strategic as Nigeria intensifies efforts to upgrade its airport infrastructure nationwide.

With regulatory reforms underway and global partnerships expanding, the conference offers an opportunity to align goals with best practices. Many participants believe this alignment could spur confidence among investors, while also reducing systemic risks in financing.

By honouring transformative players, LAAC continues to recognise those who have significantly contributed to the sector’s evolution. Their inclusion in the publication reflects the group’s wider vision to celebrate impactful leadership and advocacy.

In line with its tradition, the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents remains committed to engaging stakeholders consistently.  Its role in elevating discourse, encouraging partnerships, and spotlighting aviation policy will again be evident at this major event.

The 29th Annual LAAC Conference is another milestone in driving sector development, innovation, and meaningful financial commitment. Organisers anticipate record attendance, deeper dialogue, and renewed momentum for Nigeria’s aviation growth trajectory.
