
Discussions are centred around Aviation Financing in Nigeria as the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) prepares for its 29th Annual Conference. The event will take place on Thursday, 7 August 2025, at The Providence Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
This year’s theme, “Aviation Financing in Nigeria: The Risks, Opportunities and Prospects,” targets solutions to industry funding challenges.
The conference will feature robust dialogue on sustainable investment models, access to capital, and risk mitigation strategies.
Chairing the event is Mr. Gbenga Alade, Managing Director/CEO of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). His experience in restructuring and finance is expected to shape key takeaways.
Dr. Gabriel Gbenga Olowo, Chairman of Sabre Central and West Africa, will deliver the keynote address. He is widely respected for his insights into airline economics and distribution.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, will attend as Special Guest of Honour. His presence signals government commitment to innovative financing across aviation segments.
Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, will deliver a regulatory goodwill message. He will highlight the role of the Authority in fostering investor confidence through clear policies.
A diverse panel of experts will lead discussions. Speakers are drawn from airlines, airports, fuel marketers, insurers, and financial institutions. Others represent ground handling, leasing, and tourism interests.
Mr. Wole Shadare, Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, noted the importance of the 2025 edition.

The conference will also unveil a commemorative publication: “Celebrating Champions of Aviation Development.” This compendium honours individuals, institutions, and states that have shaped aviation since 1999.
Sessions will explore funding for airport infrastructure, aircraft leasing, and MRO development. Other areas include aviation fuel pricing, regulatory reforms, insurance, and airspace management.
